Hobart Day 6

Raisin loaf, croissants, hard boiled eggs and tomatoes for breakfast in the wee morning!

Yup, Salamanca Place on a Saturday! It's very popular with the locals and tourists.

Handmade soap. They have many different types and all are made from natural ingredients, perfect for gifts! We bought quite a number of them cos they were so pretty and sweet smelling!

They have a couple of street performances in this area. Really cool, all of them are so talented! Some of them have their own CDs put up for sale as well, and we bought it! :D

And we had a slice of the east coast scallop, a tad pricey but worth a try!

There are no shopping centres situated in Hobart, unlike Singapore where we do have many many shopping centres for entertainment purposes during the weekends. Hence it was really quite different when I experienced walking along the streets of Salamanca Place on a Saturday. I was particularly mesmerized by the cheerful atmosphere and sights of colours everywhere and time seemed to stop in its track cos everything was just so slow paced...

 

Decided to walk along the pier after we were done with Salamanca Place.

They had boats along the pier selling raw/cooked seafood. You can even dine in some of them!

And we chanced upon flippers!

How can we go back without having fish and chips? Nomming on piping hot fish and chips in the cold weather was so awesome! <3

And we specially drove to Barilla Bay for another awesome shit.

Back with their fresh oysters!!!

 

Very classy interior, you can choose to dine in for an exorbitant price! We chose to takeaway. 

 Stopped by the very famous Jackman & McRoss for some takeaway desserts.

I see you salivating! :D

Hobart Day 5 (Part 2)

We had some spare time and decided to make our way to Bonorong Park.

 

First part of the tour around the wildlife park was the Koalas! Look at how fat it is! According to the lady, Koalas spend most of their day eating and sleeping on the same tree. And we got to stroke the Koala on the back, felt quite solid actually! On a side note, stuffed Koala toys actually look cuter than the real ones don't they? :x

 Next was our favourite activity, interacting with the wallabies!

 We bought food from the wildlife park and fed the wallabies, they are so tame and will totally nibble the pellets from our hands!

Look at the baby peeking out from the mummy's pouch! The baby wasn't very small sized to begin with. It made several attempts to stuff itself into the pouch only to fall out time and again. :p

 Albino wallaby? It was caged up all by itself, poor little thing!  

 Big birds!

And beautiful love birds which stuck together all day long!

 

Bonorong Wildlife Park was indeed an eye opener for me. After all how often do we get to interact with wild animals? And the money earned are used to fund the animals, making sure they have a clean and safe place to live in and to save the injured wallabies that are knocked down by vehicles. :( So if you have the time it's worthwhile to visit this place!
